1st Dan Grading Syllabus

Time; 6 Months from first Kup. To be recommended by senior instructor 4th - 5th Dan or by written confirmation.
Seminar; To have attended at least one seminar conducted by 5th Dan or above, these may be National or Regional.
Poomse; Koryo plus two others chosen by grading panel.
Basics; To demonstrate various kicking, blocking and striking techniques, to be chosen by the grading panel.
One Step Sparring; Ability to exhibit varied techniques. ( no takedowns)
One for One Sparring; On the spot with varied techniques, speed and control.
Free Sparring; In body armour, to exhibit scoring techniques with controlled light contact and speed.
Self Defence; Demonstrating releases from hand and collar grabs.
Destruction; Seniors, side, back or turning kick 

2nd Dan Grading Syllabus

Time; 18 Months from first Dan. To be recommended by a 4th or 5th Dan or above, or by written confirmation.
Seminar; To have attended at least two seminars conducted by a 5th Dan or above, these may be National or Regional.
Poomse; Keumgang, Koryo, Pal Jang, Ryuk Jang and Oh Jang Sah Jang.
Basics; Ability to demonstrate various jumping kick techniques to be selected by the grading panel.
One Step Sparring; Must be able to exhibit varied techniques including takedowns and attacks. (head only)
One for One Sparring; On the spot with varied techniques, speed and control. Moving around demonstrating varied techniques, speed and control.
Free Sparring; In body armour exhibit scoring techniques with controlled light contact and speed.
Self Defence; Demonstrate releases from hand and collar grabs. Then bear hug from front and rear.
Destruction; Seniors, jumping side kick through two inch, ridge hand strike through two inch. Juniors, same techniques to focus pad.

3rd Dan Grading Syllabus

Time; 24 Months from second Dan. To be recommended by a senior instructor 4th - 5th Dan or above or by written confirmation.
Seminar; To have attended at least three seminars conducted by 5th Dan or above these may be National or Regional.
Poomse; Keumgang, Koryo, Pal Jang, Chil Jang, Ryuk Jang, Oh Jang, Sa Jang, Sam Jang, Ee Jang and Il Jang. Grading board's choice of the above.
One Step Sparring; Must exhibit varied techniques including takedowns and attacks. (head only)
Free Sparring; In body armour exhibit scoring techniques with light controlled contact and speed. Minimum two minutes with one change of partner for a further two minutes.
Two Directional; On the spot defence against hand and foot attacks from two opponents.
Self Defence; Defence against Knife attacks, thrust, slash and downward strokes. Opponent must be dis-armed.
Destruction; Two directional break grading panel's choice. Seniors ridge hand strike through two inch supported or through one inch suspended. Juniors same techniques to a focus pad.

4th Dan Grading Syllabus

Time; 36 Months from 3rd Dan. To be recommended by senior instructor 4th -5th Dan or by written confirmation.
Seminar; To have attended at least four seminars conducted by a 5th Dan or above. These may be National or Regional.
Poomse; Pyong won, Taebeak, Keumgang and Koryo.
One Step Sparring; Exhibit varied techniques including takedowns and attacks. (head only)
One for One Sparring; On the spot using varied techniques with speed. Moving around using varied techniques with speed.
Free Sparring; Wearing body armour, exhibit scoring techniques using controlled light contact with speed. Minimum two minutes with two changes of partner for a further two minutes each.
Two Directional; On the spot defence against hand and foot attacks from two opponents.
Self Defence; Knife attack, free style thrusts only, must disarm and grabs must be taken down.
Breaking; Two directional jumping, Backfist through two inch and house brick stomp
