New Black belts, Sunday October the 1st saw The club send 6 candidates to the BTCB Scotland Dan promotion test, with some excellent displays of Teakwondo in all sections all 6 would pass with flying colours,

well done , Gary Foat Danielle Foat, Tom Coakley, Carl Swift, Jordan Swift, and Helen Hampson.

After ilengthy discussions The association senior Instructor Master Hudson is pleased to announce that Mr Chris Codling will join Ilyo Kwan as the senior Kyorougi Instructor, Chris will be responsible for developing the Kyorougi and OLYMPIC side of our art to a new level, Chris is 35years old , a 3rd Dan and is the referee director for Kyorougi within the BTCB, Chris is a very highly respected International referee and has refereed at 3 World Championships and numerous other A class tournaments around the World, Chris shall run 2 classes per week (see Dojangs) . I am sure you will all Welcome Chris and give him your support has he develops the Olympic side of Taekwondo on our behalf

PORTUGAL INTERNATIONAL 06

Well done all who took part in the recent Portugal international, everyone was a credit to not only Ilyo Kwan but also the BTCB and the UK. Hayley , Nige, Andy , results didn't go your way but you demonstrated as usual the highest of standards in the UK. Kup grades also excellent you really are a credit to us. Gold medal Martin Maloney, he must of kissed the blarney stone, but then again I think quite A FEW DID, we must open up an Irish branch. Daniel (pictured), Tom , Sam , Jess good results, Overall we helped the BTCB and UK finish overall 2nd in the competition so again well done.

Master Hudson becomes one of only 3 WTF international Poomsae judges in the UK,

Master Hudson recently traveled to Germany to sit the WTF refresher course for international poomsae judges, the course would be over 3 days and would cover all aspects of Poomsae and the requirements for judging at WTF world level, the course would culminate with a written test, practical test and scoring test

well done all who attended with only 6 competitors we managed to gain 2nd place overall in the team event. The standard seem to improve all the time so the successes were testimony to hard work and dedication of the Elite performers in the Club

UTF LONDON INTERNATIONAL 06

with only a handful of competitors (7) once again Ilyo Kwan show and set the standard for others to attain with gold, 2 silver and 2 bronze, Martin Maloney taking gold +40 Karl Foat taking bronze after a long break from competition, Tom Coakley and Daniel Maloney again really excelled and Nigel Eastham taking bronze which could so easily have been gold.

Hayley Hudson Selected to GB National team

Hayley Hudson has been selected yet again to represent Great Britain at the forthcoming 1st World Poomsae championships that will held in Seoul Korea in September, Hayley will compete in the senior female category 18-30, I am sure you will join me in wishing Hayley every success. At the same time Nigel was selected as reserve in the male 31-40 category.

Master Hudson appointed Performance director for POOMSAE UK

January 06 Master Hudson was appointed P/D for Poomsae UK by the executive committee of the BTCB, Master Hudson will run this department at an exciting time in the development of Poomsae as a World Championship aspect of our art within the WTF . Following this appointment Master Hudson was appointed onto the ETU European Taekwondo Unions technical committee As Usual Ilyo Kwan are involved at the highest level

RESULTS ,BTCB NATIONAL POOMSAE Championships 2006

Ilyo Kwan once again crowned BTCB National club championships for the 4th time, at the event held in Mansfield January 06, with the association showing its strength in depth through both the Dan and Kup sections, Agian Hayley Hudson would become overall female grand champion for the 6th time, and would join Tom Coakley, Martin Maloney, Katie Ross, Daniel Maloney, Jessica Quinn, Cameron Quinn (AKA Jackie Chan Jnr) and Sarah Fannon in gaining Gold medals for the Skelmersdale club. Silver medals were won by ,Nigel Eastham, Mikey Freeman, Daniel Flaherty, Rory Fulton, Shaun Swift, Carl Swift.

December 05 DAN GRADING

BTCB Winter Dan promotion test saw Ilyo Kwan's Senior Instructors, Nigel Hudson & Andrew Freeman taking there next Dan promotion, In a very arduous and tiring day both would pass with flying colors, Nigel promoted to 5th Dan and Andy promoted to 2nd Dan.
